ABOUT WEBSITE
This website was intially concieved when I was still living in Japan! At the time I thought it would be a wonderful idea to make a website in which I post the pictures (I took over 1,000 mind you) I took and put them onto the web so that my friends had access to them. However, when I came back from living abroad in February 2002, I was too caught up in re-adjusting to American life to have time to do websites. Plus, I had simply forgotten what little I knew before moving to Japan.
My friend Ingrid got me back into liking graphics in summer of 2002, although, at the time, I was working on my brothers old Mac with Photoshop 4 (or something equally scary). When I eventually bought my first domain in May of 2002 the idea of making a webpage about my experience crossed my mind, however, again, I didn't have time and didn't really use my webspace. Go me.
Summer of 2003 I started at the Art Institute of Seattle as an Animation major (I liked to draw...) so did not really have time to touch the web until Summer of 2004 when I switched majors to Interactive Media and Design to fit my interests and talents better.
Summer quarter of 2005 in my Advanced Scripting Languages class we had to make a final project to demonstrate all that we had learned. Given the opportunity to actually take my idea into fruitation, I went with it and made the ugliest website ever with some of the weirdest code to match.
Fall quarter of 2005 I decided to fix up this website, make it pretty, play with CSS until my eyes bled (figuratively, I hope), and make it a website with more information and welcoming for former exchange students/potential students/etc to come learn, participate, and have fun!
